Last weekend we went with some friends to try a place we had never been to but was highly recomennded by our friends. Here is the address/direction for the Guide's Inn
It's one of your typical bar on 1 side, seating on other side 'supper club' we are so known for in this area. It was older and your typical decor, etc. The staff was very good, and there was a young boy (10 or something?)who was helping bring waters to tables, etc. He was doing a great job! The menu isnt too extensive, but offered smoe different types of meals - this with a little twist, or slightly different than the norm. They had about 4 different specials for the night as well, including a walleye special which was very tempting. I ordered a chicken dish - it was a VERY lightly breaded (hardly) chicken breast that was just pan fried, with sliced tomatoes, and sauteed onions and a slice of guyere cheese. I enjoyed it emmensely! All dinners come with an appetizer tray which included a couple types of spreads (including a liver pate which I avoided entirely but I suppose if you are into that stuff it might have been good) - some cheeses, crackers, some breads and various vegetables. Very impressive. All dinners also include soup. I ordered their special soup of the night which was a caribbean pepper soup and it was great! We also got a nice salad, more bread, and of course choice of potato or vegetable with your meal.
We were all totally stuffed with all this food, so did not partake of any dessert! They had a variety of homeade ice creams which sounded really tasty.
All in all, it was a good experience, and if we feel like taking a ride some night, we'd go there again to try some other items on the menu.
